so are you trying to suggest that previous board members, going back nearly 10 years, lacked desire ?

I desire £1,000,000. How long should I wait?

Some months ago,a working party was set up to look at the feasability to deliver the next stage of the 5 year Brakes plan, this will now connect the Brakes section to the youth team and possibly reserves. In it's current format(football for all never mind what ability etc....) it would be impossible to achieve without a brand new strand to the Brakes, giving the oppertunity to ALL players in the area to play for the Brakes at this level and still continue with thier clubs on a Sunday,we will be the ONLY club to allow this to happen,as all other clubs insist that they sign for the Club PERIOD.At this moment, the project will deliver in early Feb to the Board the strategy for this to occur. It is ambitious,as it will be the largest MJPL/Youth section in Warwickshire, and has been modelled on Telford Utd/Stevenage's set up.There is funding in place already, but we are awaiting decisions from the local authorities on playing facilities,to ensure the Jigsaw is put into place.Rest assured, there will be a good link with the new 1st team management at this level,as we can get some excellent players coming through and might even make the 1st team, but more importantly, the vision of a reserve team is a possibilty.Don't get too exited about this though, this may be some years off,but the youth set up MUST be put in place for next season,we already have had some good players leave the Brakes as they are impatient and are getting older!! The working party is made up of highly experienced Managers both in industry and youth football so truly a great and exiting project to get 2010 off and running.Don't think the Board will object to this plan,as they will see the benefits of this when the presentation has been done,Jim,and indeed David Hucker previously have ALWAYS supported youth football and our 5 yr plan.Watch this space,it is very exiting!!!! Can't answer any other questions at the moment though,as a lot of it truly has to be confiential (no pun intended)

Interesting question but I don't think so. Back in Mid Com and Alliance days there really wasn't any need for a youth/reserve set up. I know that in Southern League there is no requirement for a set up but if we want to climb the ladder, certainly by Conference level, we'll need a full club set up.
Some people say football is a matter of life and death. But I didn't hear I was watching the game.....
