F.A.O. Farnborough fans. The Exchange is now open and is being run by a football fan,he would make you very welcome There is no hot food but they have plenty of sports coverage (you could even watch the curling). The pub is just across the road from the station at the traffic lights. Also there is a taxi firm about 3 doors down

Cheers to the many replies to my initial question guys, I will will try and have a drink in all the pubs mentioned, eat several breakfasts and then stumble to the ground via the dangerous road of death, probably getting hit by our supporters coach in the last few yards.......
Hope its a good game and we get to have a bit of banter with a few of you pre and post match, come on the Boro!

Looking forward to travelling to the game and visiting the many pubs en route to the ground with Macca the Fish before getting a taxi to the ground.
What are the chances of the game being on, is a lot of snow forecast??

It sounds like the chances of the match being on are on the less than 50% side of things as far as the Met Offcie is concerned, but nobody will be any the wiser until the 10am(?) pitch inspection.

From the station, there are only three pubs en route to the ground, or four if you count The Plough who also have a minibus running to the ground at Air Ambulance Donation prices.

I thought you were supposed to be good at maths ! The Exchange, The Sun, Wheatsheaf, Windmill and the Heathcote, makes five, six with the Plough.

Missed the Sun and Wheatsheaf - two I wouldn't go in if you paid me, although I have been in the latter. My excuse is they both stand back from the road a bit

The Sun has been taken over by a local couple, they are both spot on people. That said i reckon of the ones mentioned, the Windmill is the only one i have been in for about fifteen years,

Nowt much wrong with the Wheatsheaf.

I've not been in the Sun since its re-re-opening.

It's not much of a detour to take in the Lock Dock, the Jet, and the Green Man (of which I'd only really recommend the last)
