Quite possibly, but recent results mean that it doesn't really matter. The game can be used as a measure of where we are. We are 2pts off the play-off positions - is that a false position or not? Saturday will provide some clues.

Good entertaining game at the NWG tonight.

We eased off - as noted in previous threads - in the second half. Merthyr look a poor side. We played some great one touch football at times, nice passing and moving. Faulds I thought had his best game for us. Lewis took his goal brillantly.

Saturday will be a totally different prospect.

Totally agree. I think though that given time he could adapt as well as anyone can. He is improving there, albeit slightly.
Some people say football is a matter of life and death. But I didn't hear I was watching the game.....

I think our defence is as good as it's looked all season at the moment. But Farnborough would test any defence in this league.

It was a free kick for offside. Corbett didn't retreat the full 10 yards so the goalie whacked it against him. The ref wasn't looking: the lino didn't see it. So the ref booked him on the apparent say so of the Merthyr players.

But did they test your defence or was it all one way traffic?

Not sure what you were(n't) watching, Darren, but it seemed to me that the penalty was given for a cynical shirt pulling just inside the area. A penalty in anyone's book.

I really didn't think they were all that. Our defence only really had to do much once we were 2-0 up.

It's a shame we didn't play them before December and see how they coped with an early defeat.

I fancy you to beat them.

They weren't all that on the opening day of the season. We deserved a draw and it was only two very good goals (that would have betaen any keeper) that defeated us then. We deserved the draw that day.

Time will tell, but I recjon they may just smash and grab. Our only hope is a 1v0 raid like we did agianst the Lilywhites.
